Tools Needed

  • Floor Jack
  • Jack Stands
  • Screwdriver Set
  • Wrench Set
  • Socket Set
  • Fuel Line Disconnect Tool
  • Drain Pan
  • New Fuel Pump

Replacement Procedure

  1. Start by disconnecting the battery to avoid any electrical issues.
  2. Use the floor jack to lift up the rear end of the vehicle. For safety, don’t forget to use jack stands.
  3. Locate the fuel pump. It is usually positioned on the underside of the vehicle near the fuel tank.
  4. Before removing anything, use the drain pan to drain out any remaining fuel from the tank.
  5. Use the fuel line disconnect tool to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump.
  6. Remove the fasteners that are holding the fuel pump in place.
  7. Once the pump is loose, carefully remove it and set it aside.
  8. Install the new fuel pump, perform the above steps in reverse. Start by positioning the new pump, then reconnect the fasteners and fuel lines.
  9. Reconnect the battery, start your engine, and check for any leaks.
  10. If everything seems fine, lower your vehicle from the jack stands using the floor jack.
